Welcome to the online home of Children's Conferences International, one of the nation's largest, faith-based children's conferences and event facilitors focusing on teaching children how to build a relationship with Jesus Christ.CCI's format incorporates high-energy drama, exciting music, memorization of God's Word, and positive mentoring by dynamic young people.Our Goal is to minister to Christian families and Churches by providing secure, encouraging, energetic, and engaging Childrens Conferences at Christian events. Childrens Conferences International welcomes new/old directorChildrens Conferences International (CCI) is pleased to welcome back Stephen and Nita Leckenby at the returning directors of the ministry.With over 15 years of ministry experience, Stephen and Nita have worked with children, teenagers, and college students to equip, encourage, and engage them to seek and serve Jesus Christ in every aspect of their lives. Stephens passion for music and the Word of God enables him to create original childrens music, drama, and interesting characters. As a gifted piano player, Stephens worship leading is not limited only to CCI. Stephen also plays and leads worship in churches in both his current town of residence and also at churches and other venues around the country. Stephens desire is for all people to experience worship in heart, soul and mind. Nitas heart is to teach and equip young women and men to seek and serve the Lord passionately in their ministry and giftings to which God has called each of them individually. As a passionate seeker of Christ and a gifted counselor, Nita provides powerful insight into the development of each young person to whom she ministers. Her passion for expressing the glory of God also extends to her painting and creation of art and writing designed specifically to demonstrate the beauty of the Lord.The Leckenbys first stint as directors was from the fall of 2004 to the fall of 2007. Since that time, Stephen and Nita have remained involved with CCI at a distance providing consulting and periodic participation, both ministering at CCI events and directing them. With a change a leadership during the summer of 2011, Stephen and Nita saw God open a door for them to step back into the leadership role of a ministry that is now in its 15th year. Prior to 2005, Stephen also participated in both the ministry and music of CCI as a member of the touring team alongside ministry founders Brian and Michael Denton. Among the many goals and desires that the Leckenbys have for CCI, one primary goal is to expand the ministry into other avenues of outreach. As CCI ministers in cities around the country, Stephen and Nita will be finding churches in which to minister prior to and immediately following each event. And, as the dynamic team of CCI young people minster to the children in Sunday School, Childrens Church and Wednesday evening ministry, Stephen and Nita look forward to the opportunity to minister to young people, to Moms and Dads, to the entire body of Christ. Their message is clear: our Abba Father desires a relationship with us, His children, and our participation in that relationship is the foundation of both our walk with Christ and our ability to minster to others.Stephen and Nita have been married for 9 years and reside in Graham, TX. Originally from Washington State, Stephen experienced what many married non-Texans have experienced over the yearsmoving back to the home of his wifes birth. Stephen holds a Leadership and Management Certificate from the Advanced Training Institute. Nita holds a B.S. in Social Work from Midwestern State University.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the age range for the children's program?Our program is for ages 5-12yo (unless otherwise specified)2. Can I pick up/drop off my child at any time?Yes. Our program is done in such a way that the children will be able to connect to our stories/lessons without being there the entire day. They may miss a skit, or learning a new song, but the overall concepts will still be understood3. Does the Children 's program provide Lunch?You will need to pick up your child(ren) for lunch as we do not provide it. (unless otherwise specified)4. How does the security for the Children's program work?When you arrive at the Children's Program you will accompany your children to assigned teams and sign them in. They will stay with their teams throughout the entire event. To pick them up, we need the same parent signature that signed them in. This helps us to know that it is indeed the right parent. Parents will also have a name badge sticker and a wrist band that will allow them into the children's program. Adults without these items will not be permitted.5. Can parents stay to see what their child is learning?Parents may stay with the child as long as they would like. Come in early to pick them up or stay a little later dropping them off. We are very family friendly and believe parents should be able to take part in their child's learning.6. What activities will my child be doing?We teach our Bible based lessons through skits & drama, games, new songs, and interactive verses. Your child(ren) will be involved in group/team games, relays, blow-up balloon games, and crafts.7.Does CCI perform background checks on all volunteers?Yes. Security is one of our main priorities and we realize it is for parents as well8. Will my 12yo have fun?We have had very few children comment on being "too old" for our events. . Our volunteers have always done a wonderful job of recognizing when children are feeling that way and handling it as needed.9. How old does a young person need to be to volunteer?13 years old or older in order to volunteer at a CCI event.10. Is it one price for the entire event?Yes, Unless otherwise noted in your city's event details.

Brief History of Children's Conferences Int'l
Childrens Conferences International began in 1996 when Brian Denton and his brothers put their passion for children to work towards a specific vision: to provide engaging and high-quality childrens programs at homeschool events. What began with a single event in Mississippi grew rapidly, and in fifteen years of ministry, CCI has ministered to thousands of kids at hundreds of events in the United States, Canada, Guatemala, and India. We have emerged as one of the leading providers of Childrens ministry at Christian gatherings, churches, and Christian Events. Stephen and Nita Leckenby have returned as the directors for CCI. Our Mission: To teach and encourage children to build a lasting relationship with Jesus Christ through dynamic drama and skits, memorization of Scripture, and inspirational music. To accomplish this goal, we have brought together an experienced and talented team of childrens ministers and event organizers to create, a safe, secure, and engaging environment. 2012 theme

CCI's 2012 Theme
Childrens Conferences International (CCI) is pleased to announce its 2012 theme, Legend of the Feast. It is the story of the Ravengood siblings, Ethan and Gabriel and their journey to find something to satisfy the deepest hunger of their hearts. One brother's journey even takes him to dinner with pigs. Each sibling experiences unique and exciting adventures as they seek to uncover the legend. Much to their surprise, the siblings discover that the key to solving this legend is much closer to them than they ever could have imagined.In addition to CCIs trademark excitement and improvhumor on stage, Legend of the Feast is presented as a fully-produced musical. These original songs help to drive home the message of a Heavenly Father who loves each child unconditionally and wants only good things for each of their lives. Plans are in the works for the Legend soundtrack to be available at each 2012 CCI event, and the entire production will be available for live implementation by CCIs team at local Vacation Bible Schools across North America.

Your impact on children as a CCI Volunteer
At the risk of sounding like Captain Obvious, children look up to and follow the example of older young people. If you have little brothers and sisters, you probably experience this every day. They want to be WITH you; they want to be LIKE you. While it can sometimes feel inconvenient, it is also a demonstration of the powerful amount of influence you have over these little lives. Now, think back to your younger years. Do you remember a teacher, Sunday school worker, adult relative, or even an older teenager that made a positive impact in YOUR life? What was it that they did to make this impact? In most cases, it was the time and focus they GAVE you and the genuine care and concern that had FOR you regardless of the age difference. As a CCI volunteer, these two concepts collide and merge in an amazing way. You have the opportunity and privilege to spend a handful of hours focused on impacting and influencing a small group of someone elses brothers and sisters. These children come with an expectation that they are going to see some great on-stage drama, music and craziness. What they dont realize is that they may very well come away with new heroes - their team leaders. The small-group experiences build relationships between you and these children that can have an impact far beyond the conference weekend. Join the ever-expanding team of dynamic CCI volunteers and become the person that THESE children will remember later in their life when the time comes for them to have this same opportunity to minister to other children."You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." - II Timothy 2:1-2 (NKJV)

Preparing for your volunteer experience
AGE REQUIREMENTS:All our volunteers must be at least 13 years old. Typically, young adults ages 13- 14, serve as runners. Young adults ages 15 and up can serve as team leaders and team assistance. Those serving with the security team must be at least 16 years old. Section leaders are 18 and up.ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOR:We ask that all the workers stay positive throughout the conference. Realize that most of the children arent used to being in large groups of strangers without their parents there for their security blanket. Its up to you to make them feel welcome and comfortable in this new setting. We ask that you participate in all that goes on. The children look up to you. If the leaders are enthusiastic about all thats going on, then the children will be as well. Although you may feel that some activities like hand motions during songs and scripture memory are a little childish, remember that if you dont do them, then the children wont find them enjoyable either. You play a HUGE role in setting the atmosphere for the event! So keep a smile on your face and always remember that you want the children to see Jesus in you.DRESS CODE:> Young Men: YES: Theme t-shirt and long slacks or nice jeans NO: Cut up or torn jeans, shorts> Young Ladies: Theme t-shirt and long slacks, nice jeans or appropriate skirt YES: Theme t-shirt and long slacks, nice jeans or appropriate skirt* NO: Cut up or torn jeans, shorts> We ask that each volunteer bring $10 to the first event at which they volunteer in 2011. We will have 2 Theme t-shirts for your. As a non-profit ministry, this helps to offset the cost of shirt printing along with the many other expenses that the ministry continues to incur.*Note on skirts: We want you to wear whatever would be most appropriate for you and your family and we defer to your parents on this part of the dress code. However, please keep in mind that you will be sitting on the floor with children and be involved in physical activities such as relays, obstacle course, etc. in this environment, if modesty is the goal, there are times that a skirt may not be the best choice.AUTHORITY:If you sign up to work with us, you are agreeing to obey and follow all of the CCI guidelines. We dont have a lot of rules, but the ones we have are in effect for a reason. If you are acting inappropriately please know that we will address you on the issue. We dont make that our goal and we trust that we wont have to address you on your conduct.BACKGROUND CHECK:Screening of our adult volunteers is an important part of our security process. Anyone who volunteers for a CCI event and is over 18 will be subject to a criminal background check. Adult volunteers must provide proof of ID when they report for training before the conference event.
